Cars with a UTSA parking sticker are allowed on the lot. The lot is on the south side of Durango, behind the fire station. questions to the president The following questions were submitted to the Office of the President. Dr. Peter T. Flawn's answers appear below. December grads? Since there are a large number of students who graduate in December, what is the possibility of UTSA having commencement in December for those graduates? Planning, printing programs, and producing the commencement ceremony is time-consuming and expensive. To ask the faculty and staff to participate twice a year would, in my judgement, diminish the importance of the traditional annual spring commencement. Computer age When will UTSA have the facilities available for computerized registration? Computer assistance is already being used in the registration process at UTSA. The Class Schedule, class cards, registration packets, on-line add/drop, course verifications, class rosters and various management reports are currently being produced by the computer as part of the registration process. More extensive computer use is being planned for continuous on-the-spot registration, student demand scheduling, and registration by mail. Time schedules for implementation of more extensive computerized processes are not yet developed. Paving the way Why isn't there a connecting road between the south and north parking lots? Traffic now must go completely around the campus. A temporary by-pass road was recently constructed to connect the north and south campuses. The road runs from the southwest corner of lot 5 (the lot south of the Convocation Center) to Walter Brenan Ave. (just north of the Physical Education Building.) Plans are to make this a permanent road in a future phase of site development work. The ROADRUNNER is published each Monday by the UTSA News and Information Office. Deadline for news is 10 a.m. the Monday preceding each issue. Please send information to Kay Simpson, Editor, News and Information Office, JPL 4.04.02 or call ext. 4550.
