Campus tours will also be available as part of the afternoon's activities. UTSA Day is an annual event sponsored by the Office of Admissions and Registrar. It will be held in the KIVA, MS 2.02.18. The meeting will include a slide show presentation and lecture by Larry Bell, professor of architecture and director of the Environmental Center at the University of Houston. The Environmental Center at the University of Houston is under contract with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Bell will speak about his work with Japanese governmental and private organizations and U.S. firms to create the Man Space Institute. Renowned Organist to Perform at UTSfl Cherry Rhodes, known throughout Europe and North America for her artistic and technical mastery of the organ, will appear in concert on Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Recital Hall, ARTS 2.03.02. Rhodes became the first American to win an international organ com petition when she was awarded top honors in Munich in 1966. She has played recitals at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris and at international organ festivals throughout Europe. The organist has given several Bach recitals throughout the United States and, in 1972, was invited to play the opening recital of the new organ at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. She has appeared several times as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, with whom she made her debut at the age of 1 7. Tickets for the concert are $6 general admission and $4 for students and senior citizens. For more information, phone 691-4350. UTSfl Choirs to Give Christmas Concert The UTSA combined choirs will perform Dave Brubeck's "Fiesta de la Posada" on Thursday at noon on the Central Plaza under the Sombrilla. Dr. John Silantien, assistant professor in the Division of Music, will conduct the choirs. The composer is one of America's leading jazz pianists and innovators. His "Fiesta" displays both Latin American and Jazz influences and uses a large cast of soloists, chorus, and a mariachi ensemble to retell the Christmas story. Surveys Scheduled for Week of Nov. 15 University Course/Instructor Surveys will be administered Nov. 15-19. Approximately half of the faculty will be surveyed at this time. The other half will be surveyed in the spring 1983 semester. In the classes surveyed, each student will be requested to complete two surveys -- the Purdue Course/Instructor Survey which has been in use since 1 978 and the Trial Survey. Results from the Trial Survey will be examined only to determine whether the proposed instrument is superior to the present one. Only the results of the Purdue Survey will be used to collect student perceptions of teaching to be included in the faculty evaluation process. Faculty members will administer the surveys; however, instructors of surveyed classes will not be present nor will they be involved in the administration of the surveys to the classes they teach. College Bowl Competition Hears Students will match minds in the third annual College Bowl Competition beginning at noon on Nov. 1 5 in the KIVA, MS 2.02.18. Sponsored by the University Center Program Council, the College Bowl is a question and answer game that pits teams of four players against each other to score points by answering toss-up and bonus questions. The team that wins the tournament will be part of the varsity team which will represent UTSA at the Regional Championship Tournament scheduled for February at the University of Houston. The 15 teams that win the 15 regional championships plus a 16th team selected from all the runners- up in regional championships will qualify for the national championship tournament. To be eligible to play in the College Bowl, undergraduate students must be currently enrolled in at least 1 2 hours and graduate students must be enrolled in at least six hours.
