About this collection

The University Archives makes many of our resources available online. This primarily includes photographs and publications that document UTSA history.

Gil Barrera Photographs of UTSA, 1972-1978
Gil Barrera was a freelance photographer who was employed by UTSA to photograph its organization and construction from 1972 to 1978. Among the subjects represented in the collection are building projects, ceremonies, graduating classes, concerts, distinguished visitors, conference participants, students, professors, and members of the University of Texas administration and Board of Regents. See the online collection guide for more information.

UTSA Office of University Communications Photographs, 1972-2001
The Office of University Communications—and their predecessor, the News and Information Office—is responsible for all official UTSA photography. This collection spans the years 1972 through 2001 and includes photographs of students, faculty, staff, colleges, events, buildings, and campus grounds of UTSA's three campuses (1604, Downtown, and the Institute of Texan Cultures). See the online collection guide for more information.
