Audiovisuals
Lively! Audiovisual programs from The Institute bring to life stories of the state's first immigrants, its native
India ns, its eminent artists and historic places. And they do so in a lively fashion. The average slide show
features 70-80 slides in 8-10 minutes. These programs are designed to complement today's school curriculum,
and most are accompanied by study guides.
Recent improvements to our products are the direct result of educators' input- all slide shows and filmstrips
are accompanied by two-sided audiotapes (manual and automatic versions) and are packaged in clear plastic
hanging bags for filing and storage ease.
Slide Sets: Slide sets are boxed, plastic-mounted, sequentially numbered 35mm slides,
accompanied by a boxed cassette audiotape with manual (audible tones) and automatic
(inaudible 50 Hz tones for Dukane projectors) versions and a study guide.
Filmstrip Sets: All slide shows are also available as filmstrips. These are 35mm filmstrips,
stored in plastic canisters and accompanied by a boxed cassette audiotape with manual (audible
tones) and automatic (inaudible 50 Hz tones for Dukane projectors) and a study guide.
Filmstrip Groups: A discount is offered on sets of filmstrips that are grouped into study
units. These groupings are described on page· 18.
Replacement Audiotapes: Cassette audiotapes for any of the slide or filmstrip sets
may be purchased separately for $3 .00 each.
Videotapes: These productions are different programs from the slide and filmstrip set s.
We offer all three major educational formats: %" U-matic, Y2" VHS (recorded at Standard
Play speed) and W' Beta (recorded at Beta II speed). Videotapes are labeled and boxed.
Study Guides: Most audiovisuals are accompanied by a basic study guide - an electrostatically
copied pamphlet that contains a script, background information, a bibliography and
photographic credits. These may be purchased sepa rately for $2 .50. Other programs fe ature
a comprehensive study guide - a printed booklet with all the above information plus learning
activities and other teacher's aids. T hese may be purchased for $4.50.
Rentals: Slide sets may be rented for $7 .50, and videotapes may be rented for $18. Rental
period is two weeks.
