Featured speakers are: Luz Guerra, social activist and trainer, and Kel Herd, director of the film, "It's in the Water" . On Saturday evening, the conference participants and others wiU enjoy the creative talents of Austin's Queer Poetry Slam and oomedleme Karen 'Niilms. Known for her quick repartee, insightful commentary, and audience rapport, Wlliwns is a comic craftmaster, a multitalented writer, an ilsplrational leclurer, and a gifted performer. Armed with her "heaaing with humor" philosophy, she is a modem-day alchemist, whose audiences appreciate her catha11c laughter, and whose peers consider her a oomlc's comiol As a solo entertainer, KS"en Williams delights SRO audiences from San FrMCisco to South Beach to Sydney. As founder of HaHA Institute i1 Cleveland, Ohio, Karen Wlll~~nS preasnts humor-related workshops, semi"tars, and keynotes for sodal service centers, colleges, federal and state agencies, special events, and non-profit organizations. The Conference wil also offer a wide range of workshops, including: Lesbian Sexuality, Rirting 101, Creating Conscious Commitments, hoHstlc massage, women's health matters, varied spirituaJ paths, induding Homosexualty llld the Christian Bible. A workshop entitled "Introduction to Some Common Herbs That Support Women's Health" will be presented by Womanspace's own contributor Dr. Beverty A. Hall, AN, PhD, FMN. Over 70% of Texans say they support hate aimes legislation inclusive of sexual orientation. And with George Bush out of the picture, presidential politics wil not block the bill's passage.
